ABOUT ME

I have had the great fortune of working on some truly inspiring projects while networking with many influential and creative individuals along the way. I believe in the power of working together to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. For more information about my career experience, past projects, and current work portfolio, get in touch today.

In 2017 I joined the local government as the City Recorder and GIS Coordinator, where I am responsible for maintaining the city code and providing support through GIS analytics. After earning my Geographic Information Systems certificate from Portland Community College in 2019, I started a small business that looks at urban life relationships. This allows me to explore my passion for GIS.

During my tenure as a City Recorder, my primary responsibility is to code the city’s ordinances and function as the custodian of citywide permanent public records, including its archives. By supporting and recording the city council operations, commissions, and committees, I accurately document the city government’s activities. Other job responsibilities include executive-level assistance to the City Manager, the Mayor and ensuring that the website is up to date.

As the GIS Coordinator, the primary tasks involve managing GIS applications based on growing city demands. It is made up of tasks such as planning and coordinating GIS activities to meet outlined goals.

I am responsible for timely analysis and resolution of any issues. Other vital tasks worth mentioning include performing data capture and solutions for GIS products and supervising dataflow, management, and distribution activities to support GIS. There is also the provision of support in the design and creation of geospatial databases and maps.

I analyze aerial photography, geospatial data to help people use the power of location to make better decisions. It also involves maintaining geospatial documentation for reference purposes. I also develop the annual budget for the GIS department. I stay updated on the latest development in the field of GIS by attending conferences and classes through the local Community College and University.

When I am not offering my support for the development work for complex projects, I volunteer my time at the Humanitarian OpenStreet Map Team (HOT). HOT is an international team that is dedicated to community development and humanitarian action using open mapping. I am also a member of several Freemason lodges and shrines, where I offer my volunteering services. I seek to advance my career in public service, and that is why I am currently working on getting a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Public Affairs with a minor in Community Development and GIS from Portland State University. With a goal of obtaining my Doctorate degree in Geospatial Science.
